NUS ARTS FESTIVAL is back again!
The theme this year is "Arts and Environment".
With that, we present you State of Emergency, an unprecedented and unique collaboration between NUS Ilsa Tari and NUS Electronic Music Lab as well as esteemed film maker Shaun Koh.
Yes, imagine Ilsa with contemporarised Zapin/Inang/Ronggeng backed by Techno and disc scratching coolness stuff! I see you raise one eyebrow there. Come on down and I bet you'll be wowed by this special breakthrough performance. Both eyebrows will be raised in amazement.
The string of fringe (i.e free) events looks promising as well. There's plenty of activities/ performances to entertain all walks of life!
Tickets for State of Emergency are not that expensive either ($14 & $17). Tickets available at
SISTIC. Unlike Bubbles, State of Emergency comes with many discounts (Student/ Staff/ Group etc) so make your way to their authorised counters today!
State of Emergency
by NUS Ilsa Tari, NUS Electronic Music Lab & Shaun Koh
An exploration of the relationship between man and everything that
we have known, heard and are still trying to figure out about
the environment. Through electronic music, short film and
contemporary Malay dance, this production seeks to interpret the
reflection of our nonchalance and awakening.
